Gingrich: Trump Is ‘Blue Collar, Middle-Class America’

The presidential election may be in the books, but former House Speaker Newt Gingrich continues to beat the drum for President-elect Donald Trump. Gingrich is slated to serve in the unofficial capacity of ‘senior planner’ for the upcoming administration, and he offered up his take on things in a lengthy interview.

As Newsmax reports, Gingrich touched many bases during his chat, including a side of Trump that is not often seen in the public eye.

"For one thing, Trump is culturally in rebellion. He really is Queens and not Manhattan, and people need to understand that. He is blue collar, middle-class America. He builds buildings. He doesn't finance them. He actually goes onsite," he said.

Gingrich went onto explain that Trump will have confidence in his hand picked selections to do their jobs, but he’s also not afraid to jump in when the situation warrants.

"I think he has 15 golf courses. He's not the greens manager of every single course. He has lots of people who have to work as a team. But when he shows up at a particular golf course, he checks everything. If he plays 18 holes, in mid-play, he'll get on the walkie-talkie and say, 'Hey, Fred. You know that [thing] over there, that that's not working right. You got to come down here and fix it!'” Gingrich explained.
