Gingrich: Clinton ‘Is A Liar,’ But Trump Shouldn’t Say It

Donald Trump must “be respectful and slightly lower key than people expect” if he wants to impress voters in his debates with Hillary Clinton, Newt Gingrich said Sunday night on Fox News.

Newsmax reported that the former speaker of the House, referring to the Democratic nominee, declared: “She’s a liar.” However, he advised Trump to say, “‘You know, that is simply not true,’ as opposed to ‘you are a liar.’” Gingrich suggested that the Republican candidate should be “pulling her out rather than attacking her, and where possible he wants to be making fun of her.”

The former GOP congressman from Georgia advised Trump to put Clinton “on the defensive” by asking her about the FBI’s investigation of her use of a private email server as secretary of state.

Regarding a demand by Clinton staffers that debate moderators serve as fact-checkers, Gingrich told Fox News’ Sean Hannity: “I have never seen a campaign so publically indicate that they don’t have faith in their own candidate. They don’t think Hillary can stand up to Trump. They don’t think she can correct him if she is wrong. They want (the moderator) to be their partner.”

Gingrich continued: “The Clinton people are very anxiety ridden. They watch the polls go down week after week. They are now frankly fighting to survive. This is her first big test, and in the past she hasn’t done very well with big tests.”
