Donald Trump Says He Loves The Muslims

According to CNN, Donald Trump said he loves Muslims and would consider putting one in his cabinet. After receiving much backlash for not correcting a man at a New Hampshire town hall for attacking Muslims and accusing President Obama of being one, Trump is trying to turn things around. At a high school homecoming event in Urbandale, Iowa, a student asked Trump, "I consider Muslim Americans to be an important asset to our country and society. Would you consider putting one in your cabinet, or even on your ticket?"

Trump replied, "Oh, absolutely. No problem with that." A CNN reporter also asked Trump about the controversy, Trump responded "I love the Muslims. I think they're great people." The controversy for Trump started at a Thursday town hall held in Rochester, New Hampshire. A man accused Obama of being a Muslim and not an American citizen. The man also said Muslim training camps are growing and "they want to kill us."

He then asked, "When can we get rid of them?" Trump didn't address the issue directly, nor did he correct the man. In 2008, GOP presidential nominee John McCain grabbed the microphone from a questioner who said she didn't trust Obama. To his critics, Trump said he wasn't obliged to defend Obama and asked if Obama would defend him if someone criticized him.
