Don’t Let Her Expression Fool You, Malia Is Up To Something - Here’s What We Know

The former First Daughter seems to be the only member of the Obama family who is working these days. The 18-year-old showed up for her internship this week at the Weinstein Company in Manhattan. Former President and First Lady Obama, in the meantime, finished up their post-White House vacation and headed back to resume life as civilians in their new D.C. rental.

Malia is interning with the famous film company reading and pitching scripts to executives, reports TMZ, indicating that the Obama girl might be looking at a career in film. But like everyone else, Malia is starting at the bottom. Her intern work also involved getting coffee, running errands and general menial tasks. It's planned to run through spring, and the teen will be making $9 an hour.

Malia isn't new to interning, though. Back in 2015, she was an intern on the set of ‘Girls,' the HBO comedy-drama series created by Lena Dunham.

Pictures of her in a crop top and stylish high-waisted jeans heading for her first day of work are being circulated on social media. Later that day, Malia and an unnamed co-worker set out to pick up lunch at Whole Foods.

While Malia was settling into her new job, Barack and Michelle Obama were finishing up their post-White House vacation. The former President and First Lady enjoyed some much-needed 'R & R' without their kids. On Thursday, they both returned to their new Washington D.C. rental home looking refreshed and happy.

Neighbors in the exclusive Kalorama neighborhood were very welcoming of the famous new residents. Lawn signs saying 'Welcome Home', featuring the former President's signature 'O' logo, could be spotted in front of a number of houses.

The Obamas plan to stay in Washington D.C. until their youngest daughter, Sasha, age 15, finishes high school. She attends the prestigious Sidwell Friends School, the same private school that Chelsea Clinton attended while her parents were in the White House.
