Do Jared And Ivanka Have White House Dreams Of Their Own?

It may be early in the year, but we already have a nominee for the most scandalous political page-turner of 2018. Excerpts from the upcoming Michael Wolff book entitled 'Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House’ were released on Wednesday, and the political news cycle immediately ground to a screeching halt.

Wolff draws on a wealth of sources to give his account of what things are like in the Trump administration, and he even names names as to who said what. As the Daily Mail shares, the book is already drawing strong rebukes from the president and his staff.

Among the claims from the book that have been released thus far is an assertion that Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump have ambitions for the highest office in the land of their own. Wolff goes as far as to claim the couple is reminiscent of Bill and Hillary Clinton, but Ivanka will be the one that ultimately runs for the top job if the opportunity presents itself.

“It was a joint decision by the couple, and, in some sense, a joint job. Between themselves, the two had made an earnest deal: If sometime in the future the opportunity arose, she’d be the one to run for president,” an excerpt from the book reads.

“The first woman president, Ivanka entertained, would not be Hillary Clinton; it would be Ivanka Trump.”

The author spent some time with former Trump administration member Steve Bannon, who left his gig at the White House over the summer to return to the website Breitbart.

“They didn’t say that? Stop...Oh, come on...They didn’t actually say that...Please don’t tell me that...Oh my God,”' Bannon said, according to the book excerpt.

Wolff also alleges that the president has had his moments of venting about the DC power couple. He alleges that POTUS once said that 'Kushner was a suck-up' and 'that Jared and Ivanka should never have come to Washington.'

It appears that Bannon had a ton to say while chatting with Wolff, and his comments and subsequent response from the White House have been dominating the headlines. Bannon spent some time tearing into Donald Trump Jr. over his controversial meeting with a Russian source that claimed to have dirt on Hillary Clinton.

“Even if you thought that this was not treasonous, or unpatriotic, or bad s***, and I happen to think it’s all of that, you should have called the FBI immediately,” Bannon said. “The chance that Don Jr. did not walk these Jumos up to his father's office of the 26th floor is zero.”

After Bannon’s comments began making the rounds, the White House immediately threw shade on what he had to say. The president himself would issue a strong statement that essentially attempted to eviscerate Bannon.

“Steve Bannon has nothing to do with me or my presidency. When he was fired, he not only lost his job, he lost his mind."

"Steve was a staffer who worked for me after I had already won the nomination by defeating seventeen candidates, often described as the most talented field ever assembled in the Republican Party,” the statement read in part. “Now that he is on his own, Steve is learning that winning isn't as easy as I make it look.”
