Democratic Leaders Blast Comey Over Latest Email Flap, Warn Of Trump Bombshell

The tables have turned pretty quickly on Democratic leaders since Friday’s explosive news that the FBI had some more digging to do on Hillary Clinton’s emails. The party has been on offense for the weeks leading into the election and attacking Donald Trump for everything they could think of, and they now find themselves coming to terms with having to play defense at every turn.

As the Daily Mail reports, the first play in the Democratic playbook has been to attempt to change the narrative. Hillary Clinton incorrectly stated that James Comey’s letter to congressional leaders was only sent to those on the Republican side of the aisle and that misrepresentation of facts has been picked up and run with.

“Through your partisan actions, you may have broken the law,” a letter from Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid to Comey began.

Reid also took the time to sneak in another of the Democrats favorite plays: those pesky Russians are ruining everything and threatening our democracy.

“In my communication with you and other top officials in the national security community, it has become clear that you possess explosive information about close ties and coordination between Donald Trump, his top advisers, and the Russian government - a foreign interest openly hostile to the United States, which Trump praises at every opportunity,” his letter continues.

We can be certain that many more shoes will drop between here and Election Day, but as the public becomes more mindful of the political playbook itself, only the shoes that contain actual substance and verifiable facts have any real chance of changing the narrative.
