Cops Leaves For Work, Heart Breaks When He Sees This In His Yard

Imagine being a child and not knowing if your parent is going to come home after they leave for work. Though parents try to shield their children from all of the terrible things going on in the world, kids tend to understand what’s going on.

The same goes for the children of law enforcement officers in the wake of racial tension and police shootings in America. It must be a scary thing for children to hear about reports on TV of officers being shot down because of who they are.

A photo was posted by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department recently captured this sentiment perfectly, according to ABC News. The photo of children on their knees captioned "praying their father and all police officers return home safely," has touched the hearts of many around the country.

It was posted three days after three officers were killed in Baton Rouge, prior to five officers who were shot dead in Dallas and two black men who were killed by police officers in Minnesota and Louisiana.

The photo was shared more than 3,000 times and had more than 5,000 reactions in just 24 hours, according to ABC News.
