Congressional Leaders Question The Justice Department’s Clinton Probe - Demand Answers

Congressional leaders are continuing with their attempts to untangle the web of mystery surrounding the Hillary Clinton email scandal, and that’s prompted some members to go directly to one of the key players in the investigation. As the Daily Caller reports, the House Oversight Committee has sent a letter to Attorney General Loretta Lynch seeking specific information.

Among the items that have captured the HOC’s fancy is why the Department of Justice and FBI would agree to immunity agreements with Clinton staffers that would see laptops and records destroyed.

“This is simply astonishing given the likelihood that evidence on the laptops would be of interest to congressional investigators,” the letter reads in part.

They go on to explain that it’s pretty hard to put a puzzle together when there’s a boatload of pieces missing.

“These extraordinary restrictions interfere with our constitutional obligation to conduct oversight of this matter. Thus far, the department has not explained its rationale for imposing these restrictions,” the letter continued.

No word on any response from Lynch or the DOJ as of yet.
