Clinton's Latest Move Draws Criticism, Outrage From Both Democrats And Republicans

Hillary Clinton's plans have been developing over the past few months, with announcements of her new book and subsequent book tour making headlines.

Will people actually pay to hear Hillary Clinton speak? She seems to think so, as does publishing house Simon & Schuster. But how much would people be willing to pay? As Fox News shares, the bar is being set awfully high.

“For $2,375.95 (or $3,000 in Canadian dollars), Clinton fans in Toronto can obtain a 'VIP platinum ticket' for her Sept. 28 talk. That ticket includes two front-row seats, a photo with Clinton backstage and a signed book,” Fox reports.

Seriously? We get the whole ‘VIP’ access thing, but more than two grand to hear her shill her own book - which she will also profit handsomely from? That doesn’t exactly sound like a well thought out marketing strategy, as one industry insider opined.

“It is standard for high profile authors to do book tours that sell tickets to events, but Clinton's tour takes it to a new level of greed,” the insider said.

Cary Goldstein, the executive director of publicity at Simon & Schuster, sees things differently.

“Tickets typically include a book,” Goldstein said. “Such was the case with tours for recent books by Megyn Kelly, Bob Gates, and any number of public personalities. Lecture venues have become a central component of book tours for public figures.”

Fair enough, but didn’t Clinton already make the rounds on her well-publicized ‘blame’ tour? That went over about as well as a lead balloon. Are they really expecting people to pony up that much dough to hear her continue lamenting her plight?

“This pay-for-access has all the political wisdom of doing another round of private speeches for Goldman Sachs, but as her book tour makes clear, at this point in her career all she cares about is cashing in,” the source continued.

As Simon & Schuster explains, the tour will allow Clinton to “connect with audiences with a story that’s personal, raw, detailed and surprisingly funny.”

Ummm, ok. Outside of for her hardcore Clinton supporters, the failed presidential candidate has never given off what can be described as a warm and fuzzy exterior during her ungodly amount of speaking appearances during her time in the spotlight. Why will that suddenly change? Is it because there’s such an outrageous price tag attached?

“Come join Hillary as she lets loose about her experience as a woman in politics, and other topics, in a way she never has before,” Simon & Schuster adds.

Again, she just did that. Earlier this year, Clinton made the rounds and lamented her plight for all to see. She pointed fingers at everyone but herself, and she revealed that the devious actions of ‘Macedonian agents’ are one of the many reasons why she lost. Even members of the Democratic Party were incredibly put off by her lack of accountability.

She doesn’t seem to be capable of wrapping her head around why she lost, and the upcoming book entitled ‘What Happened,’ will likely only continue to beat the drum of how rough she had it. For the folks out there willing to drop two grand to hear that story, have a great time - we’ll snag the cliffs notes version and call it a day.
