Clinton Calls Trump ‘Divisive And Dangerous’
Hillary Clinton blasted Donald Trump on Thursday, declaring that the real-estate mogul is unfit for the nation’s highest office.
“I know how hard this job is, and I know that we need steadiness as well as strength and smarts in it, and I have concluded he is not qualified to be president of the United States,” Clinton said in a CNN interview. She described Trump as “unmoored,” and called him “divisive and dangerous.”
The Democratic front-runner cited the billionaire businessman’s recent derogatory remarks about the British officials, his plan to meet with North Korea’s Kim Jong Un, his suggestion that the United States should drop out of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, and his call to allow various countries to develop nuclear weapons. That “adds up to a very troubling picture,” according to Clinton.
The former secretary of state also ridiculed Trump’s plan to temporarily prevent Muslims from visiting or immigrating to the United States, pointing out that such a ban would apply to foreign heads of state and other dignitaries. She labeled the proposal “provocative,” and argued that it is a “message of disrespect” to Muslim nations allied with the United States in the battle against terrorism, CNN reported.
“When you run for president of the United States, the entire world is listening and watching,” Clinton said. “So when you say you’re going to bar all Muslims, you’re sending evidence to the Muslim world, and you’re also sending a message to terrorists. Donald Trump is essentially being used as a recruiter for more people to join the cause of terrorism.”
