Cher Becomes One Of Latest High-Profile Democrats To Lash Out At Pelosi

It’s been a pretty rough week for Democrats, and many on the Left are on the hunt for a scapegoat. The special election for the Georgia House seat did not go as well as Democratic leaders had hoped, despite the fact that an inordinate amount of resources were poured into a single race. The Democrats pulled out all the stops, and that included a huge influx of cash from donors that will likely never step foot into that district.

The autopsy is being conducted on what went wrong, and that’s led to a healthy round of finger pointing. Many of those fingers are landing in the direction of House minority leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), and some are even going as far as to say it’s time for her to step aside. As the Independent Journal Review shares, noted political pundit Cher has chimed in with her two cents.

“CONGRESSIONAL RACE IS NOT OLYMPICS, THERES NO MEDAL FOR 2nd PLACE I ADMIRE & RESPECT NANCY PELOSI,BUT IN“EVERY”RACE,GOP RUNS AGAINST HER,” she shared on social media.

Unfortunately for Cher, there’s no turning back time in this case. She’s not the only one throwing some serious shade at Pelosi. Rep. Filemon Vela (D-TX) spoke out about Pelosi in a recent interview and indicated that she’s just one of many reasons that the election didn’t go so well.

“I think you’d have to be an idiot to think we could win the House with Pelosi at the top. Nancy Pelosi is not the only reason that Ossoff lost,” Vela said. “But she certainly is one of the reasons.”

As for the other reasons, a good portion of the Democratic party is having a seriously hard time recognizing what the problem is. Similar to the wake of last year’s presidential election, there’s a whole lot of blaming going on, but very little looking in the mirror. Seth Moulton (D-MA) is one of the few that’s willing to point out that the problems run deep in the Democratic party, and he had no problem sharing those thoughts on social media.

“We need a genuinely new message, a serious jobs plan that reaches all Americans, and a bigger tent not a smaller one. Focus on the future,” he wrote. “Race better be a wake up call for Democrats - business as usual isn’t working. Time to stop rehashing 2016 and talk about the future.”

Moulton’s on the right track, as the Democratic platform is concerned with two things right now: social issues and getting President Donald Trump impeached. Those two issues may be at the top of the mind of those that exist in liberal elitist circles, but the overwhelming majority of voters are concerned with issues that impact them directly. Jobs, the economy, national security and health care are a few that come to mind, and it would be nice to see Democrats come to the table with some real plans to improve any of them.

Instead, Democratic leadership wants to walk around telling everyone that the sky is falling - yet they offer no solutions on how to keep it from doing so outside of preventing Trump from doing his job. That’s not a plan, that’s obstructionism, and more voters are wise to that than party leadership cares to realize.
