Carson Wants To Tear Down The GOP Establishment

Republican presidential candidate, Dr. Ben Carson, recently stated in an interview that his ultimate goal is to tear down the GOP that has been throwing criticism his way since he started to consider a bid for the White House a few months ago. “Probably the thing that surprised me the most is not so much the left-wing media attempting to stop me, but the torpedoes that come from the right,” stated Carson. “But the nice thing is all I have to do is tell the truth and stick to the right principles.” Carson continued on to say, “I’m not a politician, have no desire to be a politician. You don’t have to be a politician to know how to do what’s right.”

Carson, 63, officially announced his bid on Monday in Detroit--his hometown. He is now in the ranks with five other Republican contenders: Mike Huckabee, Carly Fiorina, Marco Rubio, Rand Paul and Ted Cruz.

Carson was raised with his older brother by a single mother and graduated from Yale and Michigan University--officially retiring from his position at Johns Hopkins in 2013. He received national attention, early in 2013, by slamming Obama’s policies during his speech at the National Prayer Breakfast. According to Carson, he entered the race for his family and while this was not his initial plan after retirement, it is one he plans to approach wholeheartedly for the good of his family and the nation.
