Carson Vague About His Plan to Fight ISIS

Though Ben Carson has called for an international coalition to destroy ISIS, he will not identify who should be involved, according to The Hill.

When asked Monday night by Fox News’ Sean Hannity to list potential U.S. allies in the fight, the Republican presidential candidate declined to give a direct answer.

“I can name all the countries down there consecutively and where they are. That’s not the point,” Carson said. “The point is we need to have a plan that attracts them and lets them know that we will be with them and we’re not going to abandon them, you know, like we’ve abandoned Israel, like we’ve abandoned Ukraine, liked we’ve abandoned people around the world.”

Hannity persisted, asking again with whom the United States should work to end the terrorist threat. “That doesn’t mean anything,” the candidate replied. “You know people need to ask relevant questions.”

Carson blasted the three Democratic White House hopefuls for refusing to utter the words “radical Islam.” Hillary Clinton explained recently that she prefers calling militant groups “violent extremists,” because terrorists do not represent the views of most Muslims.

“I find it interesting that they’re willing to use the term ISIS because the ‘I’ in ISIS stand for Islamic, so they’re not really being very consistent,” Carson said. “At some point, we have to use something called common sense.”
