Carson: Terrorists Might Slip Into U.S. With Refugees

President Obama could be making “a huge mistake” if he carries out his plan to let 10,000 Syrian refugees come to the United States, Ben Carson warned on Sunday.

The Republican White House hopeful argued that taking such a risk is a “suspension of intellect,” The Hill reported.

“Bringing people into this country from that area of the world, I think, is a huge mistake, because why wouldn’t they infiltrate them with people who are ideologically opposed to us?” Carson asked during a Fox News interview. “It would be foolish for them not to do that.”

Carson suggested that if he is elected president, he might deploy ground troops to fight ISIS in Iraq and Syria. “I don’t want to put a specific number on it, or indicate what types of people there are, because those are decisions that I think are made by people who have a tremendous amount of military experience and capability,” he said. “For me to pretend like I have all that knowledge and the ability to formulate all the specific plans and how to do it I think is foolish, and I think anybody else who thinks they know it all is foolish, also.”

Carson called Muslim religious leaders in the United States to “disavow what ISIS is doing,” an action many of them have already taken.
