Carson: Clinton Relying on Obama to Save Her From Criminal Charges

Hillary Clinton “is being totally protected” from prosecution by the Obama administration, Ben Carson alleged last week while campaigning in South Carolina.

The Hill reported that the Republican White House hopeful accused his Democratic rival of praising President Obama’s record to keep him in her corner, as the FBI and State Department investigate her use of a private email server as secretary of state. The agencies are trying to determine whether any classified government information was leaked. The Justice Department eventually must decide whether to file charges.

“Do you ever notice the way she’s acting with Obama now?” Carson asked during his stump speech. “‘The president is right about this. The president is right about that. Oh, the president doesn’t want to do this.’ I mean, did you ever hear her so solicitous? I mean, you know why. Tell me why. That’s right. She doesn’t want to get indicted. … I’ve never seen anything like it. I’ve seen her for years and I’ve never seen anything like this. Everything he does is right. The fact is, look, she’s got a problem. Big problem. She is in his hands right now.”

The Hill noted that political pundits consider Clinton’s close alliance with Obama a strategy of appealing to Democratic primary voters. Polls show that a high percentage of party members continue to support the president.
