Carson: Attorney General Cruz Could Prosecute Hillary

If Donald Trump becomes president, he could appoint Ted Cruz as attorney general to file criminal charges against Hillary Clinton, former Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson suggested Wednesday.

“I think (Cruz) would be terrific on the Supreme Court, or I think he would be a terrific attorney general, or he could be both,” Carson said on Fox News Radio. “He could be attorney general first, you know, go ahead and prosecute Hillary, and then go on to the Supreme Court.”

The retired pediatric neurosurgeon acknowledged that the “deep wounds” remaining from the campaign, during which Trump and Cruz clashed frequently, will “take a little while” to heal. The Hill noted that the billionaire front-runner often refers to the Texas senator as “Lyin’ Ted.” Cruz, who dropped out of the race after losing Tuesday’s Indiana primary, had harsh words for Trump, as well.

When Fox News host John Gibson asked Carson about Trump’s potential vice-presidential running mate, he replied: “I wouldn’t advise him to pick me. I would advise him to pick someone who really is willing and able to take a significant part of the load. Traditionally, vice presidents have not really played a very significant role and I think the world is so complex right now, particularly somebody who has a lot of experience on the world scene, I think would be very good.”

According to Carson, the “left-wing media do not like someone like” him.
“I represent everything that they’re against and there would be so much attention on that and I think it would just distract from what needs to be done,” he said.
