Caddell: Democrats Also Have Refused To Accept Election Results

News reporters are guilty of “selective memory” when they criticize Donald Trump for suggesting that he might not accept the outcome of next month’s presidential election, according to Pat Caddell.

The pollster, a White House official in President Jimmy Carter’s administration, told Breitbart News: “All he said was, ‘I’ll wait and see what the results are,’ which is a reasonable position, I suppose.” Caddell noted that Trump is not the only candidate who has claimed an election is “rigged.” Democrats made the same allegation in 2000 and 2004, when George W. Bush won extremely close contests.

Last week, in a campaign appearance with Hillary Clinton, Al Gore argued that he was the real winner in 2000. He urged young voters to turn out at the polls, warning that otherwise they might realize “years from now (Clinton) actually did win but it just wasn’t close enough to make sure the votes were counted.”

Breitbart pointed out that John Kerry, the Democratic nominee in 2004, continues to claim that George W. Bush’s campaign used “fraud” to steal that election.

Trump is accusing the news media and Hillary Clinton’s campaign of conspiring against him. Some of the real-estate mogul’s critics have theorized that he is preparing an excuse for losing. Recent polls in key states indicate that Clinton has widened her lead in the race since the release of a 2005 audio recording in which Trump seemed to boast about having sexually assaulted women.
