Bush Calls Trump a ‘Junkyard Dog’ That Voters Should Reject

Jeb Bush this week ramped up his efforts to discredit Donald Trump, one of his rivals for the Republican presidential nomination.

“I seem to be the target of most of his attacks. I don’t know why he’s so worried about me,” the former Florida governor told Newsmax TV. “Maybe he thinks I’m a real threat to him, because I am. I’m the only guy who has taken him on.” Referring to Trump as a “junkyard dog,” Bush argued that “he’s not a serious candidate.”

“Little by little, I think people — while they may like the fact that he has taken on the establishment and calling people in D.C. a bunch of idiots — people are going to have to wonder whether he’s capable of being a serious commander in chief and a president who can get things done,” Bush said. “My hope and my belief is that, as Americans begin to figure this out and sort this out — particularly Republican primary voters — they’re going to want someone with a proven record, who has detailed plans and who has done it already, as I have done in Florida.”

Bush alleged that Trump is “not a committed conservative,” as evidenced by the fact that he “has supported more Democrats over his adult life than Republicans.”
