Boehner: Clinton Needs To Turn Over Her Private Server

In an effort that many feel is long overdue, Speaker of the House John Boehner has again called for presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton to hand over her email server as part of an investigation of her use of four private email accounts while she served as secretary of state. Clinton has claimed that none of the emails contain classified data.

On the other hand, Boehner said, "Despite evidence to the contrary, Secretary Clinton continues to maintain that she never had classified emails. Now let's not be foolish. She knows exactly how classifying materials works. At this point the best thing for Mrs. Clinton to do is to come clean and just turn the server over to the IG (inspector general) at the State Department.” Last week, Inspector General Charles McCullough, who oversees U.S. intelligence agencies, told members of Congress in a letter that, after reading a sample of 40 out of 30,000 emails from Clinton's private account, that four of them contain classified information during the time they were sent or received.

McCullough said in a joint statement with Steve Linick, his peer in the State Department "This classified information should never have been transmitted via an unclassified personal system." In March, Boehner said “(I)t’s very important for Secretary Clinton to turn over her personal servers to a neutral third party. That’s the fairest way to make sure that we have all the documents that belong to the public and, ultimately, all the facts.”
