Ben Carson: Liberals Are Waking Up

Last week, at the Family Leadership Summit, Ben Carson stated that a lot of liberal voters are realizing the threats posed by their democratic strongholds. In his interview, he laid out his opinion on the dangers of shrinking the size of the U.S military as we see ever-growing threats with terrorism from the middle-east. The GOP presidential hopeful criticized Obama due to his involvement in this.

Prior to candidacy, Carson was a neurosurgeon and grew up in a Democratic area during the Reagan administration. Although he was taught the opposite, after listening to Ronald Reagan, Carson didn't believe what he felt were falsehoods about the conservative wing. With this being the case, he converted to the Republican Party.

The Republican candidate believes “there's a lot of people who are waking up,” in that they are seeing the possibility of backing a Republican candidate such as himself. “I think they realize what's been happening” he then clarified his view and said “I met with a group of black pastors yesterday and people are waking up.”

"We have radical Islamic jihadists who want to destroy us and they want to destroy our way of life," he warned. "And their existence is a threat to us. We cannot be in that mindset that we made a mistake and we spent a bunch of money, so let's just get into our little cocoon. That's not going to work."

If elected, Carson tells us that he would be ready to take on the Islamic state in Iraq and Syria. He went on to support his stance by saying that “Our military is shrinking while our enemies are growing, it seems like we're trying to destroy ourselves. We've got to do better.”
