Barack Obama Was Supposed To Be Doing This, He Was At This Resort Instead

Former President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle sure seem to be making up for lost time. Ever since leaving the White House on inauguration day, the two have been taking one fun trip after another. Sometimes they go with the whole family, sometimes as a couple, and sometimes they even head off for some alone time. Most recently, they've been spotted enjoying the surf and turf in the South Pacific.

Mr. and Mrs. Obama have been spotted kin French Polynesia, enjoying the crystal-clear waters of Mo'orea island. Photos from a vacationing witness show Barack swimming in the stunning setting and Michelle enjoying some paddle boarding, working those well-toned arms of hers. The two reportedly looked very relaxed and happy, as usual.

The Obamas were on a boating excursion on a small vessel. They climbed back on after some water sports. It's unclear if they were with any friends, but most definitely there were a team of Secret Service agents on the boat watching over the two.

The former president has been holed up at the Brando resort, a posh, exclusive resort on the island of Tetiaroa, just 30 miles from Tahiti. The secluded island resort, once a vacation spot for Tahitian royalty, used to belong to film legend Marlon Brando and is inaccessible to the general public, giving the ex-president some peace and quiet. The exclusive resort reportedly costs $3,000 per night for one person for a one-bedroom suite.

Mr. Obama has been in the South Pacific about a month now, reportedly penning his soon to be released White House memoirs in the serene setting, away from any distractions.

Michelle, also working on her post-White House book, has been mostly home in Washington, D.C. with daughter Sasha. She’s visited some local schools in the D.C. area, though she did make it out this weekend to meet up with her husband and enjoy some of the sunshine.
