Bannon Mobilizes For War With Jared Kushner: I Love A Gunfight

The president's chief strategist Steve Bannon and son-in-law and advisor Jared Kushner have reportedly been going head-to-head in the White House. Cue the Clint Eastwood Western music and the sound of tumbleweeds blowing in the wind, because it’s coming down to a showdown between the two. Bannon reportedly says, "I love a gunfight."

Axios reports that people in the White House are aligning their loyalties to either Bannon or Kushner. The power struggle allegedly arose between the senior advisors because Bannon believes liberals are going to pressure President Donald Trump to turn on the conservative voters. Kushner believes Bannon is overreacting and paranoid. The two are battling over the president's agenda and which direction the administration should take.

With liberals still on the warpath due to Trump’s unexpected win, the last thing the White House needs right now is a civil war, but it’s inevitably coming.

Bannon's took a blow to his ego when he was ejected from the National Security Council this week. This is only serving to intensify the tension between the two top advisors, and the rest of Trump's administration are taking sides. Standing behind Bannon are White House counselor Kellyanne Conway, Attorney General Jeff Sessions, and policy advisor Stephen Miller.

“Steve has developed strong and important relationships with some of the most powerful right-leaning business leaders," said a Bannon ally, according to the Independent Journal Review. "I see some bad press in [Jared's] future.”

That prophecy is already coming true. Breitbart News has already been printing negative stories about Kushner. He's been accused of leaking anti-Bannon stories, and mocked for a New York Times op-ed that referred to him as a 'Man of Steel'.

Bannon, of course, is the former executive chair of Breitbart.

Kushner has the advantage of being the President's son-in-law and finds much family support, including that of his wife, Ivanka Trump. The president's daughter has tremendous influence with her father. That’s an ace in the hole, but the 36-year-old is up against a formidable foe.
