After Watching 'Fox & Friends,' Trump Goes Off On Infamous Dossier

In the era of President Donald Trump, most political insiders are coming to terms with a rather simple fact: If you really want to get the president’s attention about something, make sure that it somehow gets on ‘Fox & Friends.’ It’s been well-documented that Trump is a big fan of the program, which doesn’t throw anything resembling shade in his direction. In fact, some observers claim that the show goes completely overboard with its fawning coverage of Trump.

There has been an awful lot of discussion about Trump’s television consumption habits of late. A report from the New York Times claims that he watches up to eight hours per day, but the president and other members of his administration quickly blasted that story as nonsense.

While we have no idea how much time Trump spends glued to the tube, eight hours is a ton. In addition, there’s simply no way that he could be left undisturbed for that amount of time.

Presidential schedules are notoriously jam-packed, and Trump’s is no exception. When you add in the fact that those that are actually close to Trump marvel at his work ethic and desire to work on an almost non-stop basis, it seems like the source for the NYT report was overstating things.

Regardless, it’s been made abundantly clear that Trump spends some time with the gang on the Fox News morning show as he starts the day, and he’ll even rattle things off on social media after catching a segment on the show.

As the Daily Caller shares, he did just that on Tuesday, as the program devoted some time to the controversial dossier that seemingly no one wants to own up to. The dossier was compiled by an ex-British spy named Christopher Steele, and research firm Fusion GPS appears to have been pulling the strings behind the scenes.

The dossier was making the rounds during the campaign, but media outlets wouldn’t touch it. That tells you about all you need to know about the validity of the dossier, but it magically came back to life as Inauguration day approached.

All of a sudden, the dossier that no outlet would publish because it appeared to be sloppy and outlandish became a huge talking point. So why did that happen?

As always, following the money is a great way of digging up clues. After the segment aired, Trump hopped on social media to offer up his thoughts.

“WOW, @foxandfrlends “Dossier is bogus. Clinton Campaign, DNC funded Dossier. FBI CANNOT (after all of this time) VERIFY CLAIMS IN DOSSIER OF RUSSIA/TRUMP COLLUSION. FBI TAINTED.” And they used this Crooked Hillary pile of garbage as the basis for going after the Trump Campaign!” he wrote.

Something stinks very badly with the whole saga of this dossier, and it would be lovely to see an unbiased investigative journalist get to the bottom of things. We’ll have to wait and see if that will ever happen or not, but it’s clear that the story remains on the radar at Fox & Friends.

As such, it’ll remain on the radar of Trump as well. There’s a reason why the morning show is being regarded as the most powerful one in the age of Trump, as it can literally get the president talking about all kinds of things.
