After Rosie O'Donnell Goes Off The Rails, Conservative Commentator Sets Her Straight

The Republican tax plan has sailed through Congress, and President Donald Trump is expected to sign the bill before the end of the year. It marks Trump’s biggest legislative victory to date, and it’s being celebrated as such by GOP leaders. Democrats have had the opposite reaction, as members of the party have completely blasted the bill and portrayed it as one that will harm the very people that it’s supposed to be helping.

As per usual, the political rhetoric has been way over the top, and it hasn’t just been relegated to elected officials. There have been meltdowns aplenty all over the place from those that agree with the liberal narrative. Inflammatory comments have been dropped with abandon, insults are flying all over the place, and there’s a whole lot of hyperbolic claims making the rounds. In short, it’s been par for the course for the current political environment. We can replace the phrase ‘tax plan’ with virtually any other issue that comes up in the current climate and expect to see the same reaction.

Of course, there’s always a commenter that feels the need to go for the gusto to show how darn worked up they are about things. For the latest episode of the sky is falling, the prize goes to Rosie O’Donnell, who has never been shy about voicing her opinions. As the Daily Caller shares, she felt it would be a good idea to offer to bribe a pair of GOP Senators in a bid to ensure the bill’s passage would fail. Yes, she really did this.

“So how about this. I promise to give 2 million dollars to senator susan collins and 2 million dollars to senator jeff flake if they vote no. No I will not kill Americans for the super rich. DM me susan. DM me jeff. No shit 2 million cash each,” she wrote.

Ummm, there’s a whole lot wrong with this proposal, not the least of which is the fact that it’s blatantly illegal. This was pointed out to her by a whole host of users, and conservative commentator Ben Shapiro was inspired to offer up his wishes for the end result of the whole flap.

“If Trump orders Sessions to investigate Rosie, he will be carved into Rushmore by Friday,” he wrote.

Rosie didn’t take too kindly to Shapiro’s comments, and she offered up a terse and vulgar reply.

“Suck my d*** ben,” she replied.

No word on whether Shapiro was more flattered or confused by the remark, but he didn’t let that stop him from putting an end to this little spat.

“You’re already a felon, Rosie. Don’t be a homophobic sexual harasser too,” Shapiro wrote.

For emphasis, Shapiro would follow up by posting “#MeToo.”

Hopefully, Rosie will not be inspired to comment any further on this. Political rhetoric aside, she seriously crossed the line here, and we’re not talking about her crass reply to Shapiro. Her offer to essentially buy votes of elected officials is remarkably irresponsible, and it serves as a clear example of those that take things way too far.

We get it, Rosie. We really do. You can’t stand Trump or anything he stands for, and you think the GOP is awful to boot. You’ve made your point. That said, Trump is still in office, and the GOP remains firmly in control of Congress. Absolutely nothing you say will make a lick of difference towards changing that, and it’s time to find some more productive uses for your time.
