NFL Star Carson Wentz Defends Photo Of His Dog Standing By Dead Geese
During the course of the average day on social media, you’ll come across all kinds of things - many of which may not be your cup of tea. It’s always wise to approach what you see with a mindset of ‘different strokes for different folks,’ otherwise you’ll find yourself getting worked up about all kinds of things that really grind your gears.
Of course, not everyone sees things that way, and they take it as their personal responsibility to comment on each and every thing that rubs them the wrong way. As the Daily Mail shares, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz recently found himself feeling as if he had but no choice to respond to a ‘controversy’ that popped up over something he shared on social media.

Wentz shared some pics of his dog and wished her a happy birthday.
“Happy 5th birthday to Mama Henley! We’ve been through a lot in 5 Years."
"Best dog and hunting buddy I could ask for!” he wrote.
There was one pic of the dog standing all by herself, and that snap was right next to one that showed the dog standing over a pile of dead geese. The choice of photo didn’t go over all too well with a number of those that came across it, and Wentz was subjected to backlash as a result.
The NFLer would eventually respond, and he offered up some words of wisdom for those that were offended by his original post.
“Appreciate that, but offensive and controversial? Two of the main things I tweet about are Jesus and hunting."
"That's what I'm passionate about and that won't ever change!” he wrote.

“When you love something, you talk about it! Stay convicted about it and don't worry what others think!”
To his credit, he took ownership of the situation, but it doesn’t seem like there’s any way that he’s going to apologize for merely sharing a pic of something that he loves. His reply to the so-called controversy is obviously not going to go over all that well with those that were upset in the first place, but Wentz still deserves credit for standing up and not backing down in the face of being ripped to shreds on social media.
That’s sorely lacking in the modern world, and it’s pretty easy to see why. When things of a somewhat controversial nature gain traction on social media, the mob mentality rules the day for some users.
There’s an endless race to pile on, and there seems to some kind of top-secret contest for who can drop the biggest amount of shade on the person at the center of the controversy. The person on the receiving end of the barrage of insults goes into shell shock mode, and they come to the conclusion that their only choices are a groveling apology or to disappear from social media altogether.

This is relatively common in today’s always-connected world, as there seems to be somebody new to pile on pretty regularly. The various social media platforms seemingly have no interest in curbing this behavior, so it’s up to users to do all that they can to make sure they don’t add to the toxic environment.
In addition to not adding to the snark-fests that are going on around the clock, users can use some more caution with the things that they share. Remember - just because a thought pops into your head, that doesn’t mean it needs to be blasted out to the world.
