Justice Ginsberg Dresses To The Nines With Her New Fashion Accessory

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was spotted carrying around a tote with her own likeness. She's apparently been wearing the accessory for a while now but has only recently gotten attention for it. It just might be all the rage this season.

The tote is a promotional tote bag for the book, "I Dissent: Ruth Bader Ginsburg Makes Her Mark." The book, written by Debbie Levy and illustrated by Elizabeth Baddeley, features a black and white silhouette of the justice, and the title on the other side.

Ginsberg attended Georgetown University's Bernstein Symposium on Thursday, an event featuring organized discussions “with scholars, policymakers, and students about challenges and opportunities confronting public institutions.” She had her tote in tow.

The justice discussed her own book, "My Own Words," in which she recalls her confirmation process. She says at the time there was 'truly bipartisan spirit in the Congress'.

“Watching the most recent confirmations, I wish there was a way we could wave a magic wand and get back to the way it was and the way it should be,” Ginsberg lamented.

Ginsberg also reminisces about her late husband, Marty, in the memoir. “Marty was the first boy, probably the only boy that I had ever known, who cared that I had a brain ... He was always my biggest booster.”

Ginsberg was celebrated as a women's rights advocate and the impact she made on the Supreme Court. "But I think it is also because the American public admires her character, her values and feel a connection with her," said Robert A. Katzmann, chief judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit, who moderated the conversation. He assisted Ginsberg during her confirmation process in 1993.

According to Katzmann, Ginsberg is a 'national icon', and he backed this up by mentioning that you'd have to be to get your face on a tote, t-shirts, pop art and to have several books written about you. The totes are available for purchase on Society6.com.
