Burger King Employee Knows Exactly To Do When Customer In Distress Comes To Drive-Thru

Being on the road and feeling a medical emergency coming is one of those nightmare scenarios that can lead to sleepless nights if you spend too much time dwelling on it, but it’s more than just a nightmare for some folks.

Rebecca Boening recently experienced one of those scary incidents. She was on the road and knew that something wasn’t right, and she knew that she needed to get off and get some help. Boening would find a whole lot of comfort and understanding in the unlikeliest of places.

Boening is a diabetic, and she sensed that her blood sugar was getting really low. She knew that she had to get off the road, and she exited the highway as soon as she possibly could. Once she got off the exit, she passed by a Burger King and decided to pull in. Boening explained what happened next in a post on social media.

“Wednesday afternoon I was driving west on I-40 when my blood sugar dropped to a dangerous level. Luckily a Burger King restaurant was at the upcoming exit. As I stumbled through placing my order I mentioned to the voice on the speaker that I was diabetic and in need of food,” she wrote.

“Low blood sugar makes it difficult to think or act. I pulled up to the first window in order to pay for my food. I was shocked to see Burger King employee Tina Hardy running toward the front of my car. She squeezed between the front of my car and the building just to bring me a small serving of ice cream.”

Restaurant employees get a bad rap due to the constant horror stories about poor quality and service that make the rounds, but the overwhelming amount of good interactions fly well under the radar. Boening wasn’t about to let that happen, and she drew as much attention to Hardy’s kind actions as she possibly could.

“Tina later explained that her husband was also diabetic and she could tell that I needed help. After paying I pulled up to Tina’s window where she gave me my food. She instructed me to park across the driveway so that she could keep an eye on me until I felt better. After eating I waited for a break in business so that I could return to Tina’s window,” she continued.

“I then took this picture and spoke with Tina’s supervisor, telling him what she did for me. If you appreciate what this special woman did please share this story. Hopefully Tina Hardy will receive the recognition that she truly deserves from the public and from the big bosses at Burger King.”

Hardy went above and beyond the call of duty to help a customer in need, and Boening is returning the favor by pointing out how amazing she is. We’ll hold out hope that her place of employment and the powers that be at Burger King know that they have a real gem on their hands and that Hardy gets even more recognition for what she did as a result.

For the rest of us, this is yet another reminder that there really are plenty of good eggs out there, and we shouldn’t let the bad ones of the bunch spoil our outlook on things.
