Woman Sentenced To 20 Years After Recording Assault Of A Child

A Michigan woman has been charged with sexual assault of a minor after she admitted to recording herself sexually abusing a 4-year-old boy and then sending the video to her drug dealer.

Kailee Marie Perez, 25, faces 20 years in federal prison after she pled guilty to manufacturing child pornography and distributing it to Nathan Eric Osborne, 32. Mr. Osborne, also from Michigan, allegedly asked Ms. Perez to make the video in exchange for drugs and sex.

Kailee Marie Perez will now spend 20 years imprisoned in a high-security prison. Sentenced to 240 months in prison and 5 years’ probation, Ms. Perez has been barred from working or volunteering in any environment where children are present.

Other terms of her probation include providing a copy of her cell phone records on a monthly basis, compulsory sex offender, substance abuse and mental health counseling “as directed by the probation officer,” as well as being prohibited from interacting with other sex offenders.

Social workers conducted a risk assessment of Ms. Perez just prior to the woman’s sentencing, deducing that the reprehensible woman did not have a sexual interest in children, but made the video “due to being coerced by a codefendant upon whom she had developed an unhealthy dependency.” According to the report, Ms. Perez has had a long history of drug abuse, including the use of heroin, marijuana, cocaine, prescription stimulants and painkillers, leaving her vulnerable to the demands of Mr. Osborne.

Mr. Osborne has been sentenced to 37 years behind bars for his involvement in the incident as well as his role in coercing another young mother, Jazmine Pacyga, into recording herself sexually assaulting her own child. Michigan police continue to investigate reports that Mr. Osborne coerced other women into performing sexual acts on minors.

According to an abuse and neglect petition from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, Ms. Pacyga was taken into custody after she admitted to performing oral sex on her 5-month-old child. The petition also deemed the Michigan home unsuitable for the child due to “drunkenness and neglect.”

Ms. Pacyga was supposed to be charged with criminal sexual conduct and creating sexually abusive material.

However, she has since been sent to Kalamazoo Regional Psychiatric Hospital to be mentally assessed. Doctors’ at the hospital will determine whether Ms. Pacyga can be held criminally accountable for her actions.

"Specifically, the defendant [Mr. Osborne] used, or procured or caused the use of, a five-month-old infant in creating live video of Jazmine Pacyga performing an oral sex act on the child, and had the live video image transmitted to him via the internet," Alexis Sanford, the Assistant U.S Attorney stated in the indictment.

The public were disgusted as the details of Ms. Perez’s, Mr. Osborne’s and Ms. Pacyga came to light, with one individual commenting,

“Things that have been going on for millennia are coming out into the open and being exposed. I think things were worse before but kept hidden...People are being called out.”

“A line is being drawn for what will no longer be tolerated,” wrote another commenter. “Women and children have been subjugated far too long and issues like #metoo are drawing a line that society needs to redefine expectations.”
