Scott Peterson Drops Bombshell About Wife's Death

What seems to be a foregone conclusion to most can be downright stunning for others. It all comes down to perception, as well as how vested you personally are in the results. Such was the case with the Scott Peterson murder trial, which was a media sensation in the early 2000’s.

As the Daily Mail shares, the case has come back into the public eye via a new documentary series entitled ‘The Murder of Laci Peterson,’ and some surprising new revelations have come to light.

Peterson was found guilty of the murder of his wife and unborn child in the sensationalized case. He’s currently on death row in San Quentin, California, and he recently had a phone call with his sister-in-law.

The details of that call are making the rounds, and let’s just say that Peterson was a little blindsided by the outcome.

“It was just like this amazing, horrible, physical reaction that I had,” he recalled as he recounted what it felt like when he was found guilty. “I couldn’t feel my feet on the floor. I couldn’t feel the chair I was sitting in. My vision was even a little blurry.”

That’s pretty understandable considering the circumstances at hand. His wife and unborn child were murdered, and he was now sitting in a courtroom as the prime suspect. One would assume that reality creeps in somewhere along the way, and that can metastasize itself into feelings of unwellness.

“And I just had this weird sensation that I was falling forward — and forward and down and there was going to be no end to this falling forward and down, like there was no floor to land on,” he continued. “I, I was staggered by it. I had no idea it was coming.”

Laci Peterson was reported missing on Christmas Eve in 2002. She was eight months pregnant at the time. Scott led the charge in the search for his wife, and the case captured national attention before too long.

His wife’s badly decomposing body would wash up on the San Francisco Shoreline in April 2003.

Scott was arrested for murder soon thereafter. Turns out he was having an affair with his masseuse prior to his wife’s disappearance. That affair was not impeded by his search and rescue efforts. He was found guilty in 2004, and he was sentenced to death the following year.

He’s now 44-years-old and sitting on death row, but he’s still appealing his conviction. A number of his relatives and supporters appear in the documentary as well, and they also believe he was wrongfully convicted.

It’s implied that police were looking for a scapegoat over a botched investigation, and they point to evidence that was missed during the investigation.

Laci’s family sees things differently. His masseuse/girlfriend ended up being one of the prosecution’s key witnesses. The prosecution was also able to point out that he had numerous extramarital affairs.

While the documentary sounds like it will be a fascinating watch, the chances of Scott drumming up any sympathy for his appeal efforts appears to be between slim and none.
