Man Is Distraught When He Loses His Fiancee - Then He Learns Who She Is

Don Huckstep was just a normal man from Indiana until his life was turned upside down after the death of his fiancé, Teri Deneka. In the lead-up to Teri’s death, 57-year-old Don was on top of the world and he was looking forward to going on vacation to Italy with Teri. At this time, Don believed that Teri was attempting to take care of her leukaemia-stricken mother, Nena Metoyer, who had been staying with Teri at her home in Fowler, Indiana. The story deepened after Teri learnt that her mother had passed away and decided to take her remains to her home in Florida, texting Don: “I don’t want to talk right now. I just wanted you to know. As soon as they release her, I’m taking her to Florida. I’ll call you when I’m ready.”

After a period of limited communication, Don was overjoyed to receive a call from Teri, telling him that she was back in Indiana and wanted to meet for dinner. However, Don’s spirits were crushed when, 6 hours later, he received a heartbreaking text reading “I am not going to be around anymore. Please don’t call me or come by the house. Believe me I’m doing you a huge favor. Teri.” Don was stunned and unsuccessfully attempted to contact his former fiancé dozens of times. After leaving a box of Teri’s belongings at her empty home, Don was visited by a former girlfriend who asked him the perplexing question: “Are you doing okay?”

Don unknowingly responded that he was fine, unaware of the disturbing tale coming out of Fowler. As Don listened in amazement and horror, his former girlfriend detailed how Teri’s daughter, Gina, had contacted the police after she couldn’t contact her mother. Gina’s brother, David, later drove to Teri’s home in Fowler and found her gasping for air on the couch with a handgun by her side. Paramedics determined that the woman had died from mixing morphine and butalbital, labelling the cause of death as “acute mixed-drug toxicity.”

Amazingly, Don’s bizarre relationship with Teri was only one piece of a far more gruesome puzzle. It appears that before she began dating Don, Teri was married to a man from Chicago, named Milan Lekich. However, Milan’s family had become suspicious of Teri after Milan stopped visiting or calling, only communicating via increasingly depressive texts. Milan’s sister began investigating and determined that Teri had multiple Facebook accounts, eventually tracing the woman to her home in Fowler, confronting her about her brother’s whereabouts. After Milan’s sister challenged her, Teri fled back into her house, prompting Milan’s sister to contact Fowler police and tell them the story of her missing brother. That same evening, Don Huckstep would receive the message from Teri, telling him that she was ending their relationship.

While the police investigated Teri’s death, several grisly discoveries were made by Milan’s sister and Teri’s son. Horrifyingly, Milan’s sister found her brother’s body dismembered in his Chicago home while Teri’s son discovered that his grandmother, Nena Metoyer, had never been taken to Florida, finding her body in a garbage unit at Teri’s home in Fowler. Don has since learned that the woman he planned to marry was a murderer and a liar. As police in Indiana and Chicago continue to reveal more details about who Teri really was, Don has been forced to accept that his ex-fiancé was actually a complete stranger, chronic liar and ruthless criminal.
