Illegal Immigrant In Court For Slaying Cops Laughs, Promises To Break Out And Kill Again

The debate over immigration continues to rage, and there are absolutely no signs that the arguing will cease anytime soon. In spite of the endless yelling and pontificating from elected officials, there remain zero concrete solutions that work for the nation as a whole.

On the extreme Left, there are those that essentially want open borders with zero consideration given to exactly who is being let into the country. On the opposite end of the spectrum, there are those that want the borders to be essentially sealed while security and screening get ramped up dramatically.

In the middle, there are a ton of folks that are scratching their heads and wondering why they can’t simply come together and work out a common-sense solution that works for everyone. All the while, the crowd that consistently lights their own hair on fire to draw attention to themselves point to specific cases that bolster their respective arguments.

Another alarming case has come to light, and this one is going to be awfully tough for staunch immigration advocates to merely brush aside.

As the Daily Mail shares, 37-year-old Luis Bracamontes is currently standing trial for the murders of a two Sacramento police officers back in 2014. There’s pretty much zero question as to whether not Bracamontes, who is in the country illegally, committed the crime.

In fact, he’s come right out and admitted it. The trial has been offset by a number of chilling outbursts from the defendant, who has smiled broadly on a number of occasions as details of the murders are being relayed to the court.

“I wish I could have killed more of those motherf***ers,” he said at one point. “I will break out soon, and I will kill more, kill whoever gets in front of me.”

Judge Steve White has been the best that he can to control the scene, and he has encouraged those in attendance to disregard the outbursts and only focus on the evidence at hand.

“There’s no need for a f***ing trial,” Bracamontes said at another point, laughing and smiling while doing so.

Bracamontes' public defense attorney, Jeffrey Barbour, acknowledges that he’s not claiming that his client is innocent at all, but he has asked the court to consider whether Bracamontes is mentally competent enough to stand trial.

“We are not contesting many of these charges,” he said. “Mr. Bracamontes is responsible for the death of Deputy Danny Oliver and the death of Detective Michael Davis. He shot them both.”

Bracamontes is facing the death penalty, but Barbour contends that his client was high on methamphetamines at the time of the killings. If he can convince the court of that, the death penalty will be off the table.

“There was no need to prove all this s***,” Bracamontes said said another outburst. “I don’t f***ing regret that s***. The only thing I f***ing regret is I only killed two.”

White has threatened to have him removed from the courtroom if the outbursts continued, and it sounds like the defense is going to have a tough time proving that the crime was only committed because Bracamontes was high on drugs at the time.

“You will not disrupt this trial, you will not speak out,” White told Bracamontes. “If you do, you will be removed from the courtroom.”
