After Over A Decade, Natalee Holloway's Murderer finally Confesses
In 2005, a bright, pretty, 18-year-old woman went on vacation in Aruba, and she disappeared. After more than 10 years of suspicion, the man she was last seen with finally admitted he was guilty to a reporter, and it was caught on video. The victim's father is not getting his hopes up.
Natalee Holloway met Joran van der Sloot while on her trip that summer, and the last time anyone ever saw her was when she left a dance club with him. Van der Sloot was arrested in 2005, but because of insufficient evidence, police were forced to release him after a short while.
He was arrested again later, but again he was released without being charged.
Van der Sloot finally did land himself in jail, but it was for murdering a business student in 2010. He's never been charged for Holloway's murder.
Now, in a bombshell video, Van der Sloot has admitted that he was involved with Holloway's murder.
“I think that was one of the worst police investigation that ever took place!” Van der Sloot told a reporter.
“Are you talking about the Holloway case?” the reporter asked.
“Yes yes yes,” van der Sloot responded. “Yes, this is also where I am guilty and I accept everything that I have done.”
Van der Sloot went on to explain how he had police going in circles. “I never told the truth. I made up so many stories against the police... Also when I was younger, I never told everything. The police just never knew what they had to ask me.”
While Van der Sloot did say these words for the camera, he didn't know he was being filmed. Holloway's father dismisses the film as 'evidence' and says it doesn't amount to anything.
“A lot of people don’t realize that in Aruba, a verbal or recorded confession is not valid, unless it’s a statement signed in writing," said Dave Holloway.
Mr. Holloway believes that Van der Sloot is only saying these things for media attention and in hopes of getting money from tabloids.
