Tiger Woods Snubbed Former President Bill Clinton During Golf Game, Says New Biography

According to a new biography about Tiger Woods, the famous golfer once met with former President Bill Clinton on the golf course for his education charity. The author reports that Woods was extremely rude to Clinton, acting 'obnoxious' and even walked off the course, ignoring the former POTUS.

A former Clinton aide denies that the meeting was so hostile.

Back in 1997, Woods had a chance to meet with Clinton, then President, when he got an invitation to appear at a celebration in honor of baseball legend Jackie Robinson. Woods declined it.

In 2006, Woods and Clinton were set to meet on the golf course for the Tiger Woods Learning Center. But it seems that whatever caused Woods to turn down Clinton in 1997 was still bugging him in 2006. In the upcoming biography 'Tiger Woods', journalists Jeff Benedict and Armen Keteyian interviewed a source who claims he was getting hostile just waiting for Clinton to show up.

"Tiger wanted to know if the president had arrived. When told Clinton was on his way, Woods replied with a straight face, “I can’t wait to talk about p--sy," the book says.

When Clinton did arrive, Woods was behaving badly, according to interviews conducted by the authors. "At the outset, Clinton started carrying on, monopolizing the conversation, as he was known to do, before Woods interrupted and said, “How do you remember all that s--t?" the book read.

"Once they got onto the course, Tiger acted completely indifferent to the entire group, mostly riding alone in his cart and spending an inordinate amount of time on his phone," it continues.

"After finishing a hole, he would routinely exit the green while others were still putting, a major breach of golf etiquette. When the president hit a wayward drive, Woods snickered. He also told a series of off-color jokes."

According to former Clinton aide, Doug Band, that's not how things happened. Band was there that day and he denies the account in the book. Band even wrote his own account, which was published in GolfWorld.

"For a short piece, it’s striking how much is wrong, in fact and in spirit, in the excerpt from the new Tiger Woods biography, about Bill Clinton’s role in the opening of the Tiger Woods Learning Center in February 2006 in Southern California," Band wrote.

"I played golf with Tiger and President Clinton that day. As Counselor to President Clinton at the time, I oversaw everything having to do with the visit, and there is hardly an accurate or true word in the excerpt."

Keteyian says he stands by the account in the book, claiming Band himself was one of the sources who he interviewed about the incident.

"Doug Band is flat-out wrong in his cover-my-butt comments. Since he has already outed himself as a source, I can confirm I called Doug to fact-check certain parts of that Clinton-Woods section - the name of the club, names and number of men in the group, etc.," said Keteyian.

"Furthermore, Band was not the source of our unflattering characterization of that round of golf; it was another member of the five some who was very descriptive and specific in his displeasure," Keteyian continued. "So, to be clear: we stand by our reporting."
