Samantha Bee Calls Ivanka trump the C-Word, Conservatives Bemoan Hollywood Double Standard

Liberals are fuming over President Donald Trump's crack-down on immigration. People who enter the country illegally might pay the consequences and be sent back to their homelands, even if it means being separated from their family members who reside here in the U.S.

It's always tragic when families are separated, but comic talk show host Samantha Bee seems to think Ivanka Trump is the key culprit here. She lashed out viciously at the president's daughter and aide. Conservatives say she'll get away with it because of the double standard in the entertainment industry.

Bee blames Ivanka for failing to take action to stop the deportation of immigrants who came here illegally. Of course it is always sad when families are torn apart, but that is the risk people who break laws are willingly taking. Bee doesn't see it that way, however.,

"Tearing children away from their parents is so evil, it's the inciting incident in almost every movie we've ever cared about," Bee said in her 'Full Frontal' opening monologue. "...Let me just say, one mother to another, do something about your dad's immigration practices, you feckless c--t!"

"He listens to you," she added. "Put on something tight and low-cut and tell your father to f--king stop it. Tell him it was an Obama thing and see how it goes, OK?" Bee continued.

Conservatives were in an uproar that Bee could call Ivanka such obscene names and even hint at an incestuous relationship between Trump and his daughter, but still remain on the air unscathed. White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders commented on the incident.

"The collective silence by the left and its media allies is appalling. Her disgusting comments and show are not fit for broadcast, and executives at Time Warner and TBS must demonstrate that such explicit profanity about female members of this administration will not be condoned on its network," Sanders said.

Just two days earlier, Trump-supporting comedian Roseanne Barr said in a late night tweet that Valerie Jarrett, a former Obama advisor, looked like the love child of the 'Muslim Brotherhood and Planet of the Apes'.

Barr apologized for her harsh language and even said she had no idea the light-skinned advisor was African-American; she thought she was Jewish and Iranian. But her recently rebooted show 'Roseanne', despite being an enormous success, was cancelled by ABC hours later. 'Roseanne' reruns were even pulled from schedules.

Howard Kurtz, anchor at 'Media Buzz', notes that the media and celebrities are exhibiting 'selective outrage'.

"It's the worst word in the English language that you can use to describe a woman. ... Instead it's being reported as, 'Wow did you see what Samantha Bee said?' The media's outrage against Roseanne, which is justified, is kind of very selective and I'm not seeing it against Samantha Bee," Kurtz explained.

Others agreed. "The moment you align yourself with conservatives, you enter a world of zero tolerance," wrote Mark Davis, a columnist for Townhall. "If you are a vulgar comic spewing unprintable hate about President Trump and his family, you get a Netflix show. Roseanne Barr’s show gets canceled for one stupid tweet."

Davis notes that liberals wait to 'pounce' on outspoken conservatives who step a toe out of line, but are willing to give yards of leeway if they generally agree with the political opinion of the person who has stumbled. Bee just proved it, it seems, as TBS network has been silent about her comments.
