The President Crashed Another Wedding, Making A Newlywed Couple Very Happy

A couple getting married at Trump National Golf Course in Bedminster, New Jersey had a special treat for their wedding day. President Donald Trump himself walked in, offered them his congratulations and posed for photos with him. Lucky for Trump, the wedding party and guests appeared to be big fans of his.

Gerald Papa and Jenna Buchholtz were shocked when President Trump crashed the big event to wish them well. Marine One chopper just landed and the President and First Lady Melania got out, then made their way through the facility. Trump stopped to say hello to the crowd, shake the groom's hand and give the bride a kiss on the cheek.

As the president congratulated the shocked and happy couple, the guests cheered.

"Oh my God!" said one woman when she saw Trump enter.

"We love you!" called out another woman.

Trump quickly moved on to go upstairs to a private area as the crowd applauded him.

In a brochure for the club, the facility once noted that if President Trump happens to be on the grounds the day you are getting married, he might drop by. “If he is on-site for your big day, he will likely stop in & congratulate the happy couple. He may take some photos with you but we ask you and your guests to be respectful of his time & privacy,” read an old brochure.

After the Trump family was accused of violating the Emoluments clause of the Constitution by using their position to promote their businesses, that version of the brochures were scrapped. However, it still appears to be true. If you’re getting married on Trump’s property, and he happens to be around, he’ll probably make an appearance.

It's not the first time that Trump has surprised a bride and groom on their wedding day. In his Mar a Lago golf club he stopped in to congratulate a pair of newlyweds. Also Trump fans, they were very excited to greet him that day, which the bride said made it even more special to her.

In the Florida wedding, though, Trump wasn’t entirely unexpected. The family of the bride had been a member of the club for a long time, and the father of the bride had known Trump personally for years. He actually invited Trump to the wedding, but the president had to decline due to his busy schedule.

As luck would have it, on the day of the wedding, Mr. Trump just happened to be visiting the resort to meet with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. While the two were out on the lawn they spotted the wedding party. The President decided to drop in with the Prime Minister to say hello and wish the couple well.

This time, the visit was unexpected and totally unannounced.

Not everyone in New Jersey was happy to see the president as he headed to Bedminster, though. Angry protesters were lined up along the highways to jeer Trump for his ‘zero tolerance’ policy that resulted in hundreds of immigrant children being separated from undocumented parents trying to cross the border illegally. Trump got such backlash for the policy, he rescinded it quickly, but the effects of his policy have yet to be resolved by his administration.
