Oscar Winning Actress And Others Get Sprayed By Angry Farmer

Emma Thompson may be an Oscar winning actress, but the celebrity stank during at least one recent appearance. It wasn't her fault, though; it was actually the fault of the angry farmer who went by Thompson and her group. He sprayed liquid poop on them because they wouldn't get off his land.

Thompson joined a group of Greenpeace protesters for a demonstration to prevent fracking. Cuadrilla, an energy company in the UK, was on the farmers land fracking for shale grass. The company is leasing the farmer's land in a mutually beneficial agreement.

Environmentalists who believe fracking is harmful to the environment were there to stop it. Apparently, they wore out their welcome rather quickly.

“Celebrities from London trespassing on a Lancashire farmers land, preventing him from working whilst lecturing us on where the UK should get our natural gas from is beyond ridiculous," said Cuadrilla chief executive, Francis Egan, according to Americangg.net.

The farmer had gotten an injunction against the protesters to keep them off his land, but the protesters broke it and planned a protest to interfere with the fracking and raise awareness. They actually put on a bake-off utilizing only renewable energy.

Thompson made a cake using solar power, while her competitor u sed wind power. But they didn't get far into the cake baking efforts before the farmer came around to show them how he felt about them being on his land uninvited.

The farmer was unable to get authorities to come and help, so he decided to take matters into his own hands. He jumped into his tractor, which was hauling a large cylinder of liquid poop fertilizer. He went around the protesters and turned on the spray.

The protesters actually tried to prevent the farmer from crashing their bake-off, but he wasn't trying to run them over. He just sprayed a nice heavy circle of poop around them.

"There was such a nice smell in here, and now it smells of poo," said a competitor.

That doesn't make for the most appetizing cakes. Despite the smelly setback, Thompson won the frack-free bake-off contest. That hasn't changed the mind of the farmer, the energy company, or the UK government when it comes to fracking, however.

Perhaps if you are a celebrity, you can afford to fix your home kitchen with solar and wind power, but that wouldn't be the case for the vast majority of hard-working families.

Fracking continues to be a controversial issue around the world, particularly in the US. There have been reports of people suffering from various symptoms, such as nosebleeds, nausea and headaches, which they blame on fracking. Some countries have taken the warning signs seriously enough to ban it, and some U.S. states have banned it, such as New York.

Some scientists have said that as long as the drilling is done carefully, that fracking doesn't pose a public health risk, and is an efficient and low-cost way to extract energy from the earth. The argument is that the benefits outweigh the risks.

Whatever you think of fracking, one thing is not up for debate—trespassing on a farmer’s private land for any reason is rude, even if you do have a celebrity in tow.
