Omarosa Says Had To Pay For Her Peanuts On Air Force One

Omarosa Manigault Newman had been a friend and confidante of Donald Trump for almost a decade when he was elected president back in November of 2016.

As a black female in a white male dominated administration, it was widely expected that she would land a plum White House job. And, of course, she did, being named as the director of communications for the White House Office of Public Liaison.

But the office did not have a clear leader for most of the year, and was obviously weakened with her in a key position.

Two people close to the administration said she could to find enough attendees for a Black History Month event early in the administration, for instance. It seems the office had become what the White House described as the “island of misfit toys,” where people who did not fit other roles were sent.

But it turned out that Omarosa was in the White House for less than a year. Rumor has it she fell from the good graces of White House Chief of Staff John Kelly because of her unfettered access to the president, and was forced out of Trump’s inner circle.

The always loquacious Apprentice alum continued to talk politics during the most recent episode of Celebrity Big Brother.

Omarosa’s answer to Marissa Jaret Winokur question if she’d ever been on Air Force One was a bit of a blockbuster

“Air Force One is fun! When you fly, they shut down all air traffic,” Manigault noted. “All I spent my time on Air Force One doing is calling people just to freak them out. So the operator could be like, ‘Hello, James Maslow, I have a call from Omarosa on Air Force One. Can you take it?’”

But it was her next statement that elicited the biggest reaction from the crowd: “But you pay for the food.”

Maslow responded, “No way!” with a shocked look on her face.

“There’s no free ride in the government,” the ex-White House director of communications pointed out to the hosts of the show.

“I got a bill and it was, like, $23 dollars, and I was like, ‘I didn’t even eat anything,’ so I called the military aid. I was like, ‘Why am I getting a bill?’ He’s like, ‘Well if you even consume the snacks, you get a flat fee.’”

Maslow also asked Omarosa regarding Trump’s security detail, saying he thought Barack Obama had more security than President Donald Trump has.

“Why would he have more?” she asked.

“I’m not sure, I thought I read that somewhere,” Maslow responded, shaking his head a bit.

“The threats to this country and to its leader increase no matter who’s in office,” Omarosa continued.

At that point the former Trump insider spoke briefly about the odd feeling of returning to her hometown in the projects, this time coming down the streets of the government housing project riding in the president’s motorcade.
