Kathy Griffin Says Her Career May Be Back On Track, But She's Still Getting Threats

Kathy Griffin says she's come full circle. Last year, her career was in ruins after she did a photo shoot holding up a model of President Donald Trump's bloody, severed head. Griffin was the subject of a federal investigation for two months for threatening the president.

This year, she attended the White House Correspondents dinner. Last year she was fired from every gig over the controversial photos; this year her concerts are selling out in record time.

Griffin may be back, but she admits she's still getting backlash over the notorious photos. She says that she has recently discovered she's on a 'kill list' and she's still getting threats on a regular basis.

When the photos of Griffin holding the fake, yet realistic looking head were released last year, the comedian wasn’t prepared for the backlash. She was quick to apologize and take the photos down, but she was condemned even by those who would usually back her controversial style of comedy. She apologized profusely, claimed the Trump family was bullying her, and said '[President Trump] broke me' in a tearful plea to the public.

This year, the gloves are off. Griffin has taken back the apologies and is harder on Trump and Republicans than ever. She's clawed her way back into the limelight. By all outward appearances she's doing much better, but she admitted on social media that she's still being harassed for the photo shoot.

“In fact, I just found out I’m on a brand new ‘Kill List.’ Constant death threats and threats of violence toward me in very specific ways. None of the social media platforms I need to make a living and sell my tour tickets will step in and help at all," Griffin wrote in a social media post to her fans.

Griffin says she intends to call out “Trump, and his game criminals, and the right leaning alt-right media.” She admits that they 'have not let up on me'.

Griffin began listing some animosity she's gotten from unexpected sources. “I hear Ryan Seacrest is ‘mad’ at me and spreading the word around” because she had hired a stylist who accused him of untoward behavior," she says.

Griffin claims a person from the booking department of 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert' has a "'bad taste’ about me in their mouth,” she wrote.

Griffin also says the show 'RuPaul's Drag Race' has 'a problem' with her, despite that she's done the show multiple times for free.

“Ok,now, I will get back to work doing anything and everything I can to sell out every single show on my tour. TIMES NOT UP YET Love, KG," Griffin concluded.

Griffin co-hosted on ‘The View’ last week and took the opportunity to bash the Trump family and rescind her apology, while vowing to go after them. She referred to Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, both of whom were very critical of her when she modeled with a gory model of their father’s severed head, as ‘Eddie Munster and date rape’.

She also appeared on ' Late Night with Seth Meyers' and told the host, "I don't have an 'F' left to give."
