Ivanka Trump Gets Blasted By Social Media for Father's Day Message

Sunday was Father's Day, so people across the U.S. were posting their good wishes on social media. Ivanka Trump decided to join them, and sent well wishes out to her father and husband.

Considering Trump's controversial immigration laws, some people were furious and lashed out at the first daughter.

Ivanka took to Instagram and posted a photo of herself, her husband and father. Kushner appeared to be giving 'five' to President Trump. "Happy #FathersDay to these two amazing dads," Ivanka wrote.

In light of Trump's most recent crackdown on illegal immigration, the message didn't sit well with a lot of people. Responses began pouring in, slamming the Trumps.

“Heartless, disgusting hypocrites. Special place in hell for you ‘Christians.’ These families are humans trying to make a better life for their children,” said one person.

"You must know what kind of comments you will get?" one person raved. "As a “MOTHER” you should be horrified! As a “HUMAN BEING” you should be horrified! As an “AMERICAN” you should be horrified!"

"I realize you want to acknowledge your father on Father's Day but this is very insensitive considering he separated children who wish to be with their dads," said one person, trying to reason with Ivanka. "Your a smart woman but really u need to step out of being a Trump and be a mother. Tell the man u call Father he is doing wrong, he is not making America First that this is his ego. Stop using children to black mail the government to approve for a wall. Shameful. Next time think before you post and stop being your father's puppet."

People around the world have been in an uproar since the Trump administration pushed forth an initiative to show 'zero tolerance' to families who crossed the border illegal. Parents and children are being separated by authorities so that parents can be prosecuted.

Democrats were in a fury after stories about families being separated were reported by the media. Roman Catholic bishops held a meeting and wrote a statement condemning the harsh immigration policy.

Republicans and the White House continue to defend the policy.

"If you cross this border unlawfully, then we will prosecute you. It's that simple," said Attorney General Jeff Sessions. "If you smuggle illegal aliens across our border, then we will prosecute you. If you are smuggling a child, then we will prosecute you and that child will be separated from you as required by law. If you don't like that, then don't smuggle children over our border."

Trump has defended the policy. Most recently, he blamed Democrats for their poor immigration policies causing so many families to cross the border.

"It is the Democrats fault for being weak and ineffective with Boarder Security and Crime. Tell them to start thinking about the people devastated by Crime coming from illegal immigration. Change the laws!" he tweeted.

Ivanka was also blasted for posting an image of herself and her child on social media on Mother’s Day, just a couple of days after the uproar began over the policy. Ivanka was blasted then, with many telling the mother of three to use her influence to defend the families.
