Mother Sees Employee's Note About Son on Wendy's Receipt, Is In Tears (Photo)

Fast food might not be the healthiest choice for dinner, but it's not bad to indulge once in a while. For some families, fast food restaurants are the only affordable option. It's a great way for parents to get their kids to sit down at the dinner table with them for some family time.

Whenever you're at a restaurant, you expect that you will be treated with a reasonable amount of courtesy and respect. Wendy's, in particular, seems like it should be a friendly place what with its homey vibe (the word 'mom' is even hidden in the collar of its red-headed poster girl). What one mom encountered with her son at a local Wendy's just broke her heart.

Teeneshia Bush went into the restaurant with her 15-year-old son. The young man went up to the counter to place the order, and the cashier asked for his name. With computerized registers, this is a common practice, so he gave his name.

As he waited for his food, Bush and her son couldn't help but notice that Wendy's employees seemed to be laughing at the order. Even the manager looked at it and laughed. The mom and son wondered what was so funny.

When the receipt came, Bush and her son found out why they were snickering and giggling. The cashier wrote 'Lil Ugly Dude' on the receipt instead of the young man's name.

"This is unacceptable and unprofessional. My child was so embarrassed and upset he said the whole store was laughing at him including the manager. I play about a lot of things but my kids isn’t one," said Bush on Facebook.

Wendy's corporate got wind of the incident and reached out to Bush.

“Wendy’s has been a part of this community for many years, and we were certainly disappointed to learn that one of our employees treated a guest in such a rude manner," said Ed Sheffield, Director of Management Services, in a statement. "We take this seriously, and we no longer employ this individual. When we learned of the incident, we immediately contacted the guest. We apologized to the young man and his mother and look forward to welcoming them back to Wendy’s again.”
