FDA and Obama Administration Issue Ban on Popular Bathroom Product

The nation has breathed a collective sigh of relief after an issue that has been causing a ton of consternation has been finally put to bed. According to the Conservative Tribune, the Obama administration has put the manufacturers of antibacterial soap on notice in a move that will certainly help citizens rest easier at night.

A recent decision from the Food and Drug Administration has banned a number of chemicals that are found in antibacterial soaps. While the ingredients that have made their way onto the banned list have not been proven to pose harmful health consequences as of yet, that hasn’t presented the administration from digging it’s feet in the ground and saying enough is enough to this vexing problem.

“Companies will no longer be able to market antibacterial washes with these ingredients because manufacturers did not demonstrate that the ingredients are both safe for long-term daily use and more effective than plain soap and water in preventing illness and the spread of certain infections,” a statement from the FDA read in part.

There were some concerns that the Obama administration was gliding along on cruise control until the president’s term comes to an end, but we can now clearly see that the fear of that was horribly misplaced.
