World's Oldest Dog Peacefully Passes Away

Maggie, an Australian Kelpie, was more than 200 years old in dog years, which made her 30 in human years. According to Shared.com, Maggie was born in the 1980s and is believed to be the world’s oldest dog.

The average dog lives to be about 10 to 13-years-old in dog years. Age eventually began to take its toll on Maggie. She started to struggle to walk, but was still able to maintain her daily activities. She loved to walk around the farm every day, while barking at the 30 cats on the farm along the way.

Eventually, she went deaf and was losing her vision, however her spirit never faltered. She was inseparable from her owner Brian and hadn’t been to the vet since she was 5-years-old. 7 News Perth even did a feature on Maggie. At one point Brian and his wife even thought that Maggie might outlive them. However in August, she left this world and peacefully laying down in her basket and taking her final nap.

In her 30 years, like most dogs, Maggie was able to bring a lot of love to that farm and companionship to her owners who loved her very much.
