Video Of Wondrous Deer Encounter Ends With Camper Finding A Donut On Animal's Antlers

A video of a camper in Snake River Canyon, Wyoming has gone viral after it showed a deer meandering in a river while a powdered donut hung on its antlers. The 3:30 video – entitled “Docile deer with a donut on his antler says hi” – was first uploaded by Ben Lzicar.

In the video, the man, believed to be Mr. Lzicar, approaches the friendly deer, patting its head and removing the donut from its antlers. At one point in the video, Mr. Lzicar yells to another nearby camper, telling him about the incredible sight. After Mr. Lziicar removed the donut, he proceeded to feed the sugary treat to the regal animal. “I just did you a solid, homie,” he joked afterwards.

During the video, the exuberant male camper speculates that the donut was placed on the deer’s antlers by other campers in the area. With the animal acting unstartled by Mr. Lzicar’s movement and yelling, it’s highly likely that the deer has been in regular contact with humans for some time.

So far, the heartwarming video has received nearly two million views, and over one hundred YouTube comments. The video’s description reads: “A very friendly deer in the bottom of the snake river canyon says hello with a surprise on his antler, most likely the doughnut was placed there by another camper.”

Many YouTube commenters have expressed their amazement at the calmness and regal poise of the deer. “It is so nice to see people helping animals, this deer would had DIEEEDDD if that donut wasn't removed from the horn, the sugar would corrode trough the horn into his bloodstream and he would die,” said ‘lifemetall’. "You have a great soul, god bless you and your entire family, you have a reserved place in heaven........OK now serious, someone had to leave a comment like this, in every animal video there had to be an over expeditated comment about soul, god and blessing.”

However, although there was no shortage of praise, many YouTube commenters have cast doubt on Mr. Lzicar’s account of his time in Wyoming. “That is some of the most magical b*****it I have ever seen. If I had heard this tale without video proof I would've wondered if you had eaten some suspicious mushrooms out in the woods or something.”

Other commenters wondered if the whole video was some sort of publicity stunt. “I think we need to consider the possibility that he put the donut there in the first place,” wrote ‘SprDog’.

“I hope people don't get the idea that this is normal, natural or okay to do by any stretch of the imagination,” Jp Coates in a furious comment. “The harm being done to this, and perhaps other deer is irreversible and most likely lethal to the deer. Yes, it's fun and it's cool to be so close to a wild animal but by feeding it anything creates a dependency and a loss of its natural ability to be self-sustaining. Please don't encourage this kind of behavior. It's really not good.”
