Pet Shelter Does The Unimaginable Then Lies To Owners

If you're a pet owner, imagine your worst nightmare coming true--that your furry best friend dies while in the care of a pet sitter. Well, Tennessee couple Diedre Cole and her husband were inconsolable when Best Friends Critter Sitter told them their dog Fawn died while they were away on vacation. The owner told them “You know, I’m so sorry, but Fawn died." They were told that Fawn died peacefully in her sleep, and that she was buried at the boarding facility. After mourning the loss of Fawn, they started looking for another pet. After searching online, Mr. Cole found a dog that looked just like Fawn at the Putnam County Shelters. The dog was reportedly recovering from a broken leg and was to be put up for adoption as soon as it fully recovered.

They set up an appointment to see the dog for adoption. When they arrived, there wasn't any doubt that the dog with the broken leg was Fawn. Reportedly, Fawn wagged her tail uncontrollably and kissed her owner’s faces when they were reunited. She did not want to leave their side and the shelter released the pup back to her rightful owners. Now, the Coles want Best Friends Critter Sitter to come clean. Mrs. Cole said “Tell me the truth and apologize, that’s all I’m asking. I don’t want to sue her. I don’t want money.” The couple think that Fawn was probably injured under the pet sitter's care, and instead of telling them the truth, the company attempted to cover it up to avoid liability. Since then, the Coles have decided to microchip Fawn. Best Friends Critter Sitter has not yet made a public statement on the matter.
