Newly Discovered Hybrid Animal Leaves Scientist In Awe (Video)

Just when you think all possible forms of life on our planet have been discovered and analyzed to death, scientists reveal a new discovery. While most of those discoveries and new studies don’t warrant a second glance from most people, this one is capturing a ton of attention because it’s completely stunning.

As the Economist reports, there’s a hybrid animal that’s seen its population skyrocket in the eastern part of North America, and the animal is unlike anything scientists have seen before. It’s going by a couple of different names, including the eastern coyote and the more catchy ‘coywolf,’ and it actually contains the DNA of three separate species of animals.

The hybrid is a combination of a wolf, a coyote and a dog, and it’s noted for being an incredibly fit animal. The coywolf was born from inbreeding among the different species, and the amount of them that are now roaming the planet is absolutely mind boggling. Roland Kays of North Carolina State University estimates that there are millions of them.

Amazingly, the animals aren’t centered on remote wooded areas either. There are reportedly 20 of them in New York City alone, and some have also taken up residence on other big cities like Boston and Washington DC.
