Lock up your children. Lock up your dogs, and yes, even your chickens. A sex offender has been given a light sentence by a judge who believes the man will change.
The unnamed man, age 27, confessed to authorities that he had molested his 3-year-old daughter and 9-year-old stepdaughter. He first confessed to his wife at the time, and she was the one who reported him to authorities.
In the investigation, it came out that nothing living and helpless was safe from the man. He admitted to sexually assaulting the family dog and penetrating the chickens on the farm.
As a child, the man said he was a victim of sexual abuse, and he went on to have sexual contact with dogs. A court psychologist reported that the man is "aroused by the wrongfulness of his sexual behavior," according to the 'Daily mail'.
"My beautiful, innocent children certainly never, ever deserved such terrible violations of their bodies and hearts," said the mother of the victims.
The man was originally sentenced to just over 6.5 years in prison, but after a full confession the judge reduced the amount of time he had to serve to three years. With time served, he might be out in two years.
"Offenders should be encouraged to come clean and accept their criminal actions," said the judge who rewarded the sexual predator for his honesty.
The victims, unfortunately, will have to live with the crimes for life.
